Once we heard May 26 would be the First Annual Independent Artist Day, we got onboard immediately with the idea. Here at Vydia, we are dedicated to providing independent artists with the resources they need to get the best exposure for their music videos. Whether we are creating Vevo channels or distributing to MTV, Revolt and others, we always have the artist’s best interest in mind. And today we couldn’t be happier to see a whole day dedicated to the Indie Arts.

This movement was started by two brothers Jake and Kenny Ballentine from Sacramento. Both brothers experienced the challenges independent artists face. Jake, who is an indie musician says, “We want Independent Artist Day to be a day where Independent Artists from across the world experience a huge spike in exposure and revenue.”

Independent filmmaker, Kenny, sees the day as “a cultural buying day for independent art… one focused day for showing our support for indie artists, as well as a day for indie artists to show their appreciation of their fans.”

In order to start the movement of everyone supporting and celebrating Independent artists, the brother’s have marked today, May 26, 2015, to be observed as the first annual Independent Artist Day.

Your friends here at Vydia have created a community where independent artists can come ask questions, get advice and more on their music videos and best exposure methods. Our content team will gladly guide artists in the right direction when it comes to monetizing and distributing their content. Find us on Facebook and Twitter to join the conversation!

Happy Independent Artist Day!
