Why You Should Pay Attention: In 2017, Vydia creator Daniel Caesar quietly emerged onto the music scene and blew everyone away with his critically acclaimed debut album, Freudian. At 22 years old, this R&B-soul singer-songwriter has already received two Grammy nominations for Best R&B performance & Best R&B album and sold out his first North American tour. His single “Get You” has also amassed over 10 million streams on Apple Music and his video for “Freudian, a Visual” has over 803K views on Vevo! Caesar will be spending 2018 taking his act overseas with his first international tour.

Lil Xan

Sounds Like: Lil Pump, Lil Peep, 6ix9ine, Playboi Carti
Why You Should Pay Attention: He may have only entered the rap scene a year ago, but Vydia creator Lil Xan is quickly becoming one of the hottest rappers around. This past summer, the 21 year old dropped two EPs, ‘Toothache’ and ‘Xanarchy’ in addition to three music videos. His biggest hit to date, ‘Betrayed’, has over 64M streams on Spotify, 78M views on YouTube, and peaked at No. 69 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart! This Vydia star will not be slowing down anytime soon- he is planning to drop his debut album Total Xanarchy in addition to his first tour at the top of year.

Saweetie

Sounds Like: Cardi B, Nicki Minaj, Tink, Dej Loaf
Why You Should Pay Attention: Drawing inspiration from greats like Lil Kim, Foxy, and Eve, Vydia creator Kamaiyah a.k.a “Saweetie” is well on her way to becoming the next big female MC. Her debut into the Hip-Hop scene was quite unconventional, as one of her Instagram freestyle raps quickly went viral and actually turned into her first official song, “Icy Grl”, at the request of her fans. Saweetie dropped the video for “Icy Girl” in October and already has over 5.7 million views on YouTube.

FMB DZ

Sounds Like: 21 Savage, Joseph McFashion, Sada Boy, Babyface ray
Why You Should Pay Attention: The Detroit based rapper broke out onto the scene with the release of his mixtapes “Washington DZ” and “I Ain’t Gonna Lie” in 2017. He is already being recognized as one of the best street rappers in the whole city. His hit single “Set It Off”, which was released in July, already has almost a million streams on SoundCloud. Keep an eye out for FMB DZ, he’s going to be doing big things in 2018.
