Pop music in 2017 may have been dominated by well-known talents like Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, and Selena Gomez but we see a new trend rising in the new year. Young, hungry, and multi-talented creators are about to break out and define 2018 with their fresh sound and faces. To help you get aquatinted with this new wave of Pop talent, here are the top Pop Vydia Creators to Watch in 2018: Pia Mia, Ella Vos, Alex Angelo, and ABIR.

Pia Mia

Sounds like: Kehlani, Austin Mahone, JoJo, SoMo, Zendaya
Why You Should Pay Attention:  VVydia creator Pia Mia has the killer vocals, edgy style, and sharp business mind to completely take over 2018. As an entrepreneur, Pia Mia runs her own record label, Wolfpack Entertainment’ and is the first ever fashion director for Madonna’s clothing line, Material Girl. She has expanded her brand and now has almost 5M Instagram followers, 708k Twitter followers, and 4M monthly listeners on Spotify. As a music creator she has collaborated with some of the biggest names in the industry including Chance the Rapper (“Fight For You”), G-Eazy (“F**k With U”), and dynamic duo Chris Brown and Tyga (“Do it Again”). Her latest EP, The Gift 2 which was produced by the legendary Nic Nac (who also worked with Justin Bieber, DJ Khaled and Chris Brown) has over 1 million views on YouTube. Most recently, Pia Mia worked with Jeremih and dropped the video for “I’m A Fan” which has over 5M views on Vevo.

Ella Vos

Why You Should Pay Attention: Indie pop singer-songwriter and Vydia creator Ella Vos had a breakout year in 2017 with the release of her debut independent album, Words I Never Said. The album features hit singles “Down in Flames” and “White Noise” which have a combined 39 million streams on Spotify. “White Noise” was also featured as the #1 track on both Spotify and Hype Magazine’s Top Viral Charts and while its remix, produced by DJ R3hab made Billboard’s 10 best remixes of 2017. Vos’s songs were also featured on ABC’S “Grey’s Anatomy”, E!’s “Life of Kylie” and The CW’s, “The Originals”. Vos’s viral success has already been spotlighted by both Rolling Stone and Vevo dscvr but we expect even bigger praise to come when she hits the road with her first national tour in February!

Alex Angelo

Why you should pay attention: Vydia creator Alex Angelo has established himself as a successful producer, DJ, dancer, and singer-songwriter all before the age of 17. He began dancing at age 7 and djing at age 10 and showcased these skills as a performer for the Cleveland Cavaliers. By 2014 he released his first EP, “This is the Beginning” which led to him joining two national tours with fellow Vydia creator Austin Mahone. He has also spent the past few years sharing the stage with superstars like Justin Bieber, Pitbull, Shawn Mendes and Fifth Harmony. Most recently fans voted Alex Angelo as the winner of Popstar Magazine’s rising star contest for his hit video Señorita which has over 15k views in 2 months. This is just the beginning for Angelo, so check him out now and keep an eye out for him in 2018!

ABIR

Sounds Like: Xavier Omar, Louis Mattrs, Sabrina Claudio
Why You Should Pay Attention: Vocal powerhouse and Vydia superstar, ABIR blew us away in 2017 during a live exclusive performance at Vydia’s SXSW showcase (and we weren’t the only ones impressed). Her unique sound gained the attention of both Billboard who named her one of their “most exciting new voices” of 2017 and Apple Music who crowned her one of their “favorite new artists”. Previously ABIR has performed alongside The-Dream, Dawn Richard, and former Vydia creator Aminé. Most recently she dropped her first official music video, “Girls”, which was a collaboration with and promoted by Beats by Dre. In a recent interview with Hypebae ABIR described her plans for the upcoming months as “…everything to this point has all been about 2018, which is really the beginning for me so lots of music, shows and etc”. Needless to say, we can’t wait to see what’s next!
