The smooth riffs and vocals of Sebastian Mikael grabbed our attention with the release of “Beautiful Life” back in 2011. The Swedish born singer-songwriter released his first mixtape “J’Adore” soon after moving from Sweden to Los Angeles to attend the Musicians Institute then continuing on to Berklee College of Music in Boston. It was at Berklee when Ted Lucas, CEO of Slip-N-Slide Records, caught wind of Mikael and signed him to the label. The mixtape received rave reviews among his growing fan base and the R&B/Soul industry. The world got a glimpse of the visuals for “Beautiful Life” in 2013 on YouTube and then was distributed through Vydia. The video was picked up and put on rotation at AXS TV, Music Choice, MTV Jams and other major television networks. Mikael has mentioned he puts hope behind every song he creates, sending out messages of love and life that make his fans feel good, a notion Mikael has referred to as the “J’Adore Lifestyle”.
In 2014, the classically trained musician debuted a 10-track debut album “Speechless”, a joint venture between Slip-N-Slide Records and Caroline/Capitol Records, which featured duos with Teyana Taylor and Rick Ross. Now, the world got a teaser with his new single “Money” that debuted last month and was also distributed by Vydia, getting picked up at MTV Jams, VH1 Soul, Retail Networks and more.
The visuals created thus far have us only craving more from this 24-year-old R&B singer and can’t wait to see what is next for Mikael. He made headlines this week with his acoustic version of Fetty Wap’s “Trap Queen” who is another one of Vydia’s distribution clients.
