Protecting Artists in the Age of AI: Vydia Champions Spotify Artist Profile Protection
Making music should be fun. But dealing with AI copycats, artist impostors, metadata mix-ups, and profile errors can quickly turn that experience into a headache. Your music, your brand, and your artistry belong to YOU, and protecting them should never be an afterthought. As a result of our long commitment to content security & integrity, Vydia was selected to partner with Spotify on its Artist Profile Protection program.
What is it?
Spotify’s Artist Profile Protection feature gives artists more control over what appears on their Spotify profiles. Participating artists can review and approve upcoming releases before they go live. If something looks incorrect, they can decline it before it reaches their profile.
The program is still in its early stages and isn’t yet widely available, but more than 2,000+ Vydia artists have already been invited to participate.
How does it work?
Spotify provides participating artists with a unique access key that allows approved releases to bypass manual approval and go live on time. Vydia clients simply share that key with us, and we handle the rest.
At Vydia, we take the responsibility of securely delivering content without issue so artists can focus on what they do best: creating. Spotify’s Artist Profile Protection initiative is just one example of the broader steps we take behind the scenes to help artists protect their work.
How else does Vydia protect artists?
Our artist protection goes far beyond a single feature. It’s built into every step of the Vydia process from onboarding and quality control to delivery and rights management. Here are a few of the ways we help creators maintain ownership, accuracy, and confidence around their music every day:
- Closed Platform: Vydia is an invite-only platform, intentionally selective to support legitimate artists while helping keep bad actors out of the ecosystem.
- Built-In Prevention Tools: Our dashboard includes content recognition technology designed to identify potentially fraudulent uploads before music reaches DSPs.
- Quality Control: Every release undergoes a thorough review process to ensure clean metadata, high-quality content, and compliance with DSP technical standards, helping minimize errors before delivery.
- Proactive Troubleshooting: Our on-call content team is available to quickly resolve last-minute metadata discrepancies, rights management issues, and other delivery concerns that may arise.
- Preferred DSP Partnerships: Vydia is recognized as a preferred partner by platforms including Spotify and Apple Music after consistently meeting high standards for content quality and timely deliveries.
- Exceeding Industry Standards: Our YouTube Content ID claims are 10x better than industry average, reflecting our commitment to accuracy and rights management integrity. We rank #1 in our cohort.
The digital landscape may be unpredictable, but our commitment remains the same: helping clients protect their work and release music with confidence.
Making music is already hard work. Take a load off, we’ll help handle the rest!
