Have a question? We have an answer!
One of the benefits of selecting a Vydia Plan is having the option to monetize your audio and video content. By selecting a monetize policy, content containing your works will be claimed as yours, and subsequently have revenue generated from audience-appropriate advertisements being placed alongside the claimed content.
Please be advised that by selecting a monetize policy, content that you upload on your social media platforms will be claimed as well in order to apply your monetization policy. Also, note that selecting a monetize policy does not guarantee that revenue will be generated; but rather enables the option for ads to generate revenue.
In order to start monetizing, users must create a release on their ‘My Content’ dashboard and select ‘Monetize’ as the protection policy across YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram.
Vydia offers users complete transparency on earnings and content performance. Click Insights to access Analytics including downloads, playlisting, streaming, and demographic data. Click into Royalties for revenue details, and the Statements tab for downloadable reports.
Vydia has a global distribution partnership with TikTok. As an early exclusive partner, we are proud to offer our users the ability to deliver and monetize their music to TikTok’s audience of over 500 million users around the world in 33 different languages.
To learn how you can be one of the first to deliver and monetize your music on TikTok from Vydia, check out our blog.
Once your video has been delivered to a streaming platform, you must contact Vydia Support or your dedicated account representative for any additional changes.
Audio distribution may take up to 5 business days to be reviewed, accepted, and delivered to partner platforms. You will receive a notification once your audio content is live. To make sure your content is available for playlist consideration, please schedule your audio release at least 4 weeks before the launch date. Please note that playlist support is not guaranteed.
Expand your global reach with expedited delivery to the industry’s leading video destinations. From one convenient platform, our video distribution services will allow you to:
- Deliver to premium video partners including iTunes, Apple Music, Vevo, etc.
- Publish to connected social networks including your YouTube channel, Facebook page, Twitter account, etc.
Please note that you must meet certain partner standards to distribute video content to the platforms mentioned above.
Vydia’s technology streamlines content and metadata ingestion to ensure it meets partner specifications. In order to further expedite this process, before you distribute your next video, be sure you have the following:
- High-definition .mov or .mp4 file type (at least 1920×1080 or 1280×720 or higher).
- ISRC (Don’t have one? You will be prompted to create a unique ISRC within the video distribution workflow.)
- UPC (Don’t have one? You will be prompted to create a unique UPC within the video distribution workflow.)
From platform upload to distribution, our technology provides the digital infrastructure needed to efficiently package and deliver your video content to major video streaming platforms and social networks. To get started, check out our Video Distribution walkthrough guide.
Applying for a Vevo channel is one of our premium services that are available with the Vydia Plan. If you already have a Vydia Plan, you can create a release, select “Deliver To Premium Partners’, and choose Vevo as your video’s destination.
Once the release is complete, it will be manually reviewed to ensure that Vevo requirements are met, which may include certain metrics such as social media following, video performance, the authenticity of engagement, and quality of content. To learn more about this process, check out our blog!
Once I’ve accepted an invitation to start collecting royalties, where can I track my earned revenue?
When a Vydia user invites you to collect royalties on content and you accept the asset split, you can track your shared revenue by clicking into the Shared with Me folder located within your My Content dashboard.
Payees will earn revenue from streams and downloads that occurred starting on the first day of the month in which they accepted their royalty invitation.
Keep in mind, once we receive earnings statements from our partner platforms, we will ingest them into our system. Partner platforms have various schedules for statements and payouts. Typically, it can take anywhere from 1 to 4 months (depending on the revenue source) before earned revenue is made available to you.
The earnings you accrue can either be used as a credit towards any services on our site or paid out to you directly.
Yes. The Royalty Center Authorization enables Vydia to pay out your collaborators on your behalf.
You can edit active royalty splits by contacting your Account Manager or the Vydia Support team.
If an invitation is pending, you can send a new one by completing the following steps:
- Select Royalties from the top menu bar and select My Payees.
- Choose a Payee that has a pending invitation.
- Click Resend Pending Invitations.
- Select Okay to confirm.
Pending invitations will expire after 30 days if the Payee has not yet accepted it. However, the Payor has the option to re-send a new invitation at any time.
In order to share royalties with a Payee, complete the following steps:
- Click Royalties from the top menu bar and select My Payees.
- Click Assign Royalties.
- Choose a Payee or Add a New Payee.
- Select the content for which you would like to split royalties.
- Assign the royalty percentage the Payee should receive for each asset.
- Review the Royalty Assignment Details.
- Agree to the Royalty Center Authorization.
- Select Confirm and Invite.
A Payee is any contributor or collaborator on your audio or video content that you would like to share royalties with (i.e. featured artist, audio engineer, video producer, etc).
The Royalty Center is Vydia’s new universal payment solution that allows you to pay your collaborators (Payees) royalties for their contributions to your content.
Invite your Payees, assign royalty percentages, and let our technology distribute funds accordingly to ensure everyone gets paid their share of earnings. Check out our guide to learn how to get started!
Based on content strategy goals, the Vydia platform enables creators to select different protection policies for how they want their content managed on Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube. The 4 protection policies include:
- Monetize– selected platforms may display advertisements with the content, which generates revenue that Vydia collects on behalf of the rights holder.
- Block– selected platforms will prevent users from uploading protected content.
- Permit– selected platforms will allow users to upload content that contains copyrighted material. Performance metrics, like views, will be tracked; However, no revenue will be generated.
- No Policy– Vydia will not claim copyrighted content on selected platforms.
Still not sure what protection policy works best for you? Check out our blog to learn more.
*Please note that claims will be made on all content uploads, including the creator or rights holder’s own uploads in order to apply the selected policy.
YouTube Ownership Conflicts occur when another YouTube partner attempts to claim ownership over an exclusive copyright Vydia is also administering for you. Ownership Conflicts put your content’s revenue on hold for as long as the conflicting party’s ownership remains, so it is important to resolve these conflicts as soon as possible.
To review and resolve any current conflicts, please click here.
We recommend reaching out to the conflicting party to request that they remove ownership of the assets in conflict.
Once we receive earnings statements from our partner platforms, we will ingest them into our system. Partner platforms have various schedules for statements and payouts. Typically, it can take anywhere from 1 to 4 months (depending on the revenue source) before earned revenue is made available to you.
The earnings you accrue can either be used as a credit towards any services on our site or paid out to you directly once you register with our payment system, Tipalti. Please note that you are only eligible to sign up with Tipalti once you accumulate a minimum balance of $35, verify your email addresses, connect at least one valid social media account. Once you have successfully onboarded with Tipalti, payments will automatically be sent to you on a monthly basis around mid-month starting the next applicable pay period.
For questions on Tipalti, please visit for Tipalti FAQ page here. Please note, all payments are subject to Vydia’s approval process. Vydia reserves the right to withhold earnings that do not comply with Domestic/International banking regulations as well as Vydia’s Terms and Conditions.
